Understanding Registration Packages in Chati

Registration packages are a fundamental component of event management in Chati. They function as ticket levels that determine what content and areas attendees can access within your virtual event.

What are Registration Packages?

Registration packages are essentially the "ticket types" for your event. Each package you create defines:

  • Which spaces, booths, and webcasts an attendee can access
  • What confirmation email they receive upon registration
  • Their default user type assignment (optional, beneficial for entitlement)

Why Registration Packages Matter

Packages are critical because they control the attendee experience. They determine:

    • Entitlement: If an attendee tries to access a space, booth, or webcast not included in their package, they will receive an error message
    • Price: If your event is using Chati for registration payments, the registration package will determine the ticket cost.

    Key Concepts

    • Every user needs a registration package: All attendees must have an associated registration package to access event content
    • Default Package: If you don't add package selection to your registration page, all attendees will automatically receive the default package
      • The “Default” package is the one that is not private, has the lowest precedence value, then alphabetically
      • If you don’t need to use registration packages for entitlement, create one package with access to all webcasts, spaces, and booths.
        • Multiple Packages: You can create as many registration packages as your event requires
        • Flexible Usage: Packages can be used in various ways depending on your event needs (e.g., VIP access, early bird tickets, workshop-specific access, exhibitor passes)

        How to Use Registration Packages

Registration packages are needed for every event, but can be leveraged to:

        • Offer different access levels (General Admission, VIP, Speaker, Exhibitor)
        • Provide tiered pricing structures
        • Restrict certain content to specific attendee groups
        • Create early bird or promotional ticket options
        • Segment attendees for targeted communications
