How to set registration restrictions

Various registration restrictions are available. This is specifically related to restricting IP addresses, whitelisting, or blacklisting. You can also limit the number of registrations allowed for any given event.

1. Select ‘Registration’ on the navigation bar, then ‘Restrictions’

2. Set the following:

a. Maximum Number of Registrants (0 = unlimited)

b. IP Address and Email Domain Whitelist/Blacklist

- Black lists prevent people who have IP addresses or email domains that are in the lists from registering. Whitelists only allow those with the matching IP and email domains to register. Either IP lists or email domain lists or both may be used, based on what is defined in those lists.

- IP Restrictions can be configured, click here to see how.

c. Rejection Action

- This determines what the system does when a registrant does not meet the criteria, such as:

  • Do not create any registration data - discard any user and registration data
  • Register as Pending - save the user and registration data in a pending state, allowing for later review and manual approval
  • Register as Blocked - save the user and registration data in a blocked state, allowing for later review as to who tried to register that did not meet the criteria

d. Custom Decline Message

- Allows you to enter a specific message to display to those registrants who did not meet the restriction criteria.

e. Turn Two-factor Opt-in (on or off)

3. Once you have set your registration restrictions, click ‘Save’
